Ibanez Q or Quest series is an entirely new concept for Ibanez. The “Quest” in this case was to not just to adapt an existing instrument into a headless design, but to develop an entirely new guitar from the ground up. This range features a number of unique elements intended to maximize tone, performance, and playing comfort. These include, custom designed R1 single coil and Q58 humbucker pickups, a new Mono-Tune bridge, and a proprietary custom string locking mechanism. The QX subseries is also equipped with innovative 8-degree inward slanted frets, uniquely tailoring their ergonomics to the benefit of highly technical players.

Wizard C 3pc Roasted Maple/Bubinga neck
The standard neck shape is neither too thick nor too thin to accommodate a variety of playing styles.
The three-piece construction of roasted maple and bubinga provides excellent stability and durability.

Ebony fretboard
It uses ebony, which has excellent sound response and a bright tone.

Jumbo Jescar EVOgold™ frets
The JESCAR EVO™ frets are made of an alloy of copper, tin, iron, and titanium. Not only do they have a gorgeous gold look, but they also have a brighter tone and are more durable than nickel silver frets.

Pale Moon Ebony top / Nyatoh body
The body top is made of pale moon ebony (speckled ebony), which has a distinctive grain that resembles ink dripped onto white paper, and the body material is Nyatoh wood, which has excellent, plump mid-low range characteristics.

Q58 HH pickups
It is equipped with the humbucker pickup “Q58” developed for the “Q” in an HH configuration. It is designed to have a well-balanced sound across the entire frequency range, making it easy to create sounds with effects. The low range is powerful and clear, while the high range is clear and mellow. It also has low noise, making it a great match for both digital and analog effects.

Custom string lock
The “Custom string lock” developed by Ibanez for the “Q” has a simple one-piece structure.
It is durable and easy to change strings. You can use your favorite gauge and brand of strings without the need for special strings.

Mono-Tune bridges
The intonation can be adjusted over a wide range, making it easy to tune down one step or even further. The string height can also be easily adjusted. The number of parts that make up the saddle has been reduced to a minimum, resulting in a natural sound that allows the resonance of the guitar body to come through.

dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch
With a flip of the mini switch, you can freely switch between humbucker mode and single coil mode, allowing you to play 10 different sound variations.
In power tap mode, one coil is tapped and the other coil is specially wired to make the most of the low range, resulting in a clear high range and a thick, well-defined sound that cannot be obtained with a simple tap.
This switching system is ideal for modern guitar players who have to play multiple roles with limited equipment.
